Notes: | Label source: The pawpaw is thought to be native to tropical South America, but is widely grown throughout the tropics, for its fruit which is eaten both fresh and cooked. Papain is extracted from all parts of the plant, but especially the fruits; itis u, sed as a meat tenderiser as it digests protein and is used medicinally to aid digestion. Papain is also used in the tanning and wool industries. |
