Notes: | Label source: From the Botanic Garden, Cape Town. A masticatory - prepared by Hottentots & Bushmen in Camarron district, prepared in absence of tobacco. Mr Garwood Alston Jr. who sent it, declares that he found it produced incipient intoxication. The fre, sh plant leaves, root, stems, is fermented in a skin - pouch kept warm by contact with the body for some days & is then dried in the sun. Rec'd. Oct 6.1886. |
