Notes: Label source: Leaves affected by Cemiostoma coffeellum Mann. An insect which has caused the almost entire destruction of the Coffee Plantations in Dominica. Note from Gardens Chron. p113.1875. on Coffee blight - A letter was read from Dr Imray of Domini, ca, enclosing specimens of the leaf of the coffee seriously injured by the larva of a small moth, determined by Mr McLachlan to be Cemiostoma coffeella, and which is fully described in the sixth volume of American Naturalist. Closely allied insects produ, ce disfigurement of the leaves of Laburnum, Broom, and Hawthorn in this country. ('Catch'em alive, oh!') fly-papers were recommended as a remedy.
