Notes: | Note source: No photo Label source: Four bundles. Nos 33/44, 30/6, 31/11, 34/40 Natural and renewed bark, and mossed bark. This plant has been known on the Govt estates as McIvors hybrid, and Magnifolia, and Mr Cross, the South American Explorer, pro, nounced it to be the Pata de gallinazo referred to by Dr Spruce at p 117 of the cinchona Blue Book of 1863, as the smooth var of Cuchicara. The term magnifolia applied to this plant is purely a local one as it is in no way related to the C magnifolia ofR, uiz and Pavon. The Kew authorities, under date 24 Jan 1882, remarked it may be said with some certainty that the Nilgiri is not the Pata de gallinazo of Chimborazo. For a list of other species to which the name Pata de gallinazo has been applied see We, ddells notes, Article no 10. |
