Notes: | Label source: Letter 461.1919: xiii p.104 Opuscular source: Drug Certificate from Harrison & Self, Analytical & Consulting Chemists dated 20th January 1920 to Lt Col Sir David Prain, Director RBG Kew - The sample of Cinchona bark received from Mr J Mas, ters Hillier on 31st gives the following result on analysis. We find it to contain Total Alkaloid ... 4%, Quinine, calculated as crystalline quinine sulphate ((C20 H24 N2 O2)2, H2SO47 1/2 H2O) .... 0.03% By this mail I am sending you a further sample of, Cinchona bark on which I should be glad to have a Broker's opinion if not troubling you to much. This comes from the region of Bucaramanga and is labelled; a large number of trees have been planted in that locality and I understand that the sample is fro, m cultivated trees or rather from trees that have been planted, as there is little cultivation given to anything in this country.
