The microscopical structure does not help very much in distinguishing between Cephaelis acuminata and C. ipecacuanha. From the information gi, ven with British Pharmacopoeia 1953 and in Wallis's textbook. I agree with you that the sample is almost certainly C. acuminata. Richardson tells me that there is no sample of C. acuminata in the museums, so prehaps this sample might be kept there for pat, rons reference. C.R Metcalfe.
