Notes: | Label source: Sample of root from Morocco. Messrs Harrison & Crosfield Ltd, 1-4 Great Tower Street, EC 3. The sample appears to be the root of A.pyrethrum DC. LAB 11.5.20 Label source: Letter 208, 1920 ; XIII p.164 - May 12th 1920 Messrs Harrison & Cros, field Ltd. Acknowledge the receipt of their letter of the 5th instant and in reply to say that the root from Morocco, submitted for identification appears to be that of A.pyrethrum, the 'Pellitory' of Spain. Fluckiger & Hanbury (Pharmacographia: A History, of the Principal Drugs of Vegetable Origin, p.384) state that it is 'chiefly as a sialogogue for the relief of toothache, occasionally in the form of tincture as a stimulant and rubefacient'. |
