Notes: | Opuscular source: Letter from Chemist & Druggist to J Masters Hillier, Kew: Dear Sir, I send you by post a sample of a South African product obtained from a tree about 60 ft high, 'evidently belonging,' says a Johannesburg subscriber, 'to the Sapotaceae, order.' Our subscriber believes it to be a species of India rubber, but two rubber brokers in Mincing Lane declare that it is not rubber, one of them believing it to be a species of Euphorbia. Prehaps you'll be able to identify the specimen and to write u, s a brief note about it. I also send you a sample of an Indian drug from Bombay, called 'Epicocona' can you give us any information about this. I am yours faithfully. |
