Notes: | Label source: Specimen of the Gatah Percha an exudation from an ? described tree growing near Singapore, given ? Mr Crista ? Lungeon H.E.J.C.S. It has been locally used for making bougies, elastic, catheters, etc and some official account of it by Dr Mon, tgomery ? and Mr Clelland is to be found in one of the Indian periodicals. I have to request that Mr Gray will give them to some museum of Materia Medica as specimens like the present are rarely to be procured, the substance being manufactured immediately, into whips from which the bougies have hitherto been made. Signed J McGillivray. |
