Notes: | Label source: Labels attached to specimens - A piece of the same gutta as that marked C cleaned of the larger impurities Gutta boiled by the Malaya and mixed with bark and dirt. Report by Messrs Hecht, Levis & Kahn, 36 Fenchurch Street EC dated Oct 30th, 1900 'Your favour samples to hand. Sample C is a medium quality white gutta percha a value about 2/6 per lb. Sample D. We should not have considered this at all the same thing if your label had not said so. It is brittle, dead and next to useless and wou, ld not fetch many pence per lb. Before shipping in large quanities we should recommend trial shipments of about 1/2 a ton to give manufactures a chance of throughly testing the quality, as some of the new kinds of Gutta turn out of very little use commerc, ially. | ||||
