Notes: | Label source: Ashton & Co, Brighton - Chemists. Mr Holland: M113-30 Sample of 'Diabetic' Herb used in S. Africa. Potter & Clarke, Ltd. 60 Artillery Lane E.1. The material consists of broken pieces of twigs, leaves and fruits. The structure of the stem is, right for Apocynacae or Asclepiadaceae, and as the fruits and seeds agree satisfactorily with those of Vinca rosea, and this species is used in the treatment of diabetes in South Africa, I think that you can name the material V. rosea.
