Notes: | Opuscular source: letter - 6 Fitchfield Terrace, Bejeuts Park NW Feb 7 1880 - Dear Mr Hooker, I have heard from Dr Farre and he informs that he either bought the capsule of St Ignatius Bean off a botanical book seller in Greek Street or Frith Street Soho, , but who left this country many years ago, or else he got after the death of Robert Brown. When he died several things were left in drawers and odd places about the house in Soho Square and he got several good fruits from his brother and Dr Farre thinksi, t was one of these. He quite agrees with me that the Pharm Soc often assisted him in making his collection and as you are now renewing the kindness we shall be quite justified in presenting the capsule to the Pharm Soc. I will take an early opportunity of, bringing it to Bloomsbury Square and giving it to your museum. Many thanks and believe me to be yours sincerely yours George Henchow. |
