Notes: | Label source: Mr Faber who gave me this rhubarb says that it is of the crop of 1793 and produce of plants raised in Siberia from seeds obtained in the country of the China - Rhubarb by order of the Empress Catherine of Russia. A few packages of it had re, mained in the Russian Government Warehouse until this year when it was determined to dispose of them and samples of the rhubarb (of which this is some) were accordingly sent to London to ascertain its value. |
