Notes: | Label source: Inodorous, astringent bark having a fibrous fracture, found among Cassia vera from Calcutta. Upon comparison with Guibourt's specimens, it appeared identical with the bark to which he restricts the name of Cassia lignea, vide Kist des Drog., (ed 1849) Tome ii p.380 DH. Also extract from a letter dated Paris 12 Dec 1856 from M.Guibourt to DH. In french. Sent to Pfester 29.1.94 - Med. rays numerous dilated upward. Fibrous splinters laminated. Astringent ..?.. But not coriander odour the corin, ander like bark is not obtusifolius. See Pfester |
