Notes: | Label source: No 3 Ipe : This is an extraordinary tree when in blossom as it does so when there are no leaves, the flowers being of a bright yellow colour, and so close together that it looks like a huge ball of gold. The timber is valuable. Extract from, letter, G Chalmers, Fazenda de Jaguara (Brazil) dated Oct 19th 1925 to Lady Harris, 98 Gloucester Terrace, Hyde Park, London.
