Notes: Label source: Known as pot in Trinidad. The root of this is sometimes macerated mixed with water and a few drops of the liquid squeezed into the nostrils of hunting dogs. This is reputed to enhance their sense of smell. The leaves are also similarly t, reated and the dog bathed in the liquid. Mr Melizan, Asst Cons. of the Forests of the dept informs me that he once had a hunting dog that was so treated, but apparently an overdose killed the dog in one hour. Extract from letter RC Marshall, Cons of For, ests, Trinidad, 24.11.1930
