Berlin, 1895, p.95 First known from figure of the fruit sent out by Pierre in 1889, who suggested that it might belong to Dipteroc, arpceae. Pierre afterwards described it as Ochocoa gabonii (Bull. Soc. Linn. Paris, 1896, p 1257) and placed it in Myristiceae. Warburg (Monogr. Myrist. 1897, p.244) reduces Ochocoa to Scyphocephalium, to which Pierre does not agree and states the followi, ng differences :- Ochoco- Fruit indehiscent. Seed without an aril. Scyphocephalium Fruit dehiscing by two valves. Seed with an aril. |
