A, little screen of sticks is placed over a slow fire and upon this is put the crude gum (packet A) when the heat causes this to melt and fall among the embers from which it is raked out and mixed with powdered charcoal and becomes the Asphalte (packet B) w, hich is used in fixing spear heads etc.
