Notes: | Label source: Buiscuit - rubber. Prepared from trees growing in the Botanical Gardens, Aburi. Para Rubber Scrap - prepared as above. Gold Coast. Opuscular source: Kew Memo re: Para rubber from Aburi Gold Coast, received for report from Mr W H Johnson 16, .2.04. Director; The samples of rubber have been submitted to Messrs Hecht-Levis & Kahn 36 Fenchurch Street E.C. who report very favourably upon them. They consider both samples to be of excellent quality, well cured, free from impurities & quite equal to, that received at the present time from Ceylon. Such rubber readily finds a market here & would realise at the present time 4/6 to 4/7 per lb. for the biscuit & 3/6 to 3/8 for the scrap. Its very important that rubber should be thoroughly dry befor shippi, ng. |
