Notes: | Label source: Bark of the Colliguaja (described in Hookers Bot. Miscellany Vol. 1 138 p. ? This specimen is from Chili - is said to lather in water like soap, & to be much used by the ladies of Chili to give a fine polish to their hair - if any of the li, quid should happen to enter the eye it causes most violent pain and inflammation - even to a more severe degree than common soap. Mr Robinson thinks this bark is probably C odorifera (not Quillaia) known as Colliguaja. J.H.H. 16.vi.32. Submitted to Mr Met, calfe but no specimen for comparison. |
