| Notes: | Label source: China grass or Ramie. The plant has been successfully cultivated for many years for experimental purposes in Jamaica, but no fibre has as yet been exported owing to the difficulty of extracting it. The small quantity now sent was extracted, by machine & steeped in water. It could be grown to any extent on irrigated and other lands. | ||||
