Letter M441, 1930, named in Herb. by Mr Dandwith? 20.v.30 The nuts have tough fibrous shells from 0.1 to 0.2 ins thick, forming 46.4% of the entire nut. The avera, ge weight of the nuts was 17.6 grams, and the kernels 9.4 gs. The kernels contained 18.9 % of moisture and yielded on extraction with light petroleum 1.4 per cent of a solid yellowish brown fat, equivalent to a yield of 1.7% from the moisture free kernel, s. Owing to the very low yield of fat they would not be of commercial interest as a source of oil. Extract of letter Imp Inst. 7.7.1930. |
