Notes: | Label source: C Page & Co Rattan, Bamboo, Stick and Malacca Merchants. Letter 125, 1916: X.p.162 Material shipped from China - one bale. Sample of material, which consists of bark and portions of outer tissues, is very similar to the bark of Broussonetia, papyrifera (the 'paper mulberry'). It appears however not to be quite identical with the latter, but to belong to some other plant closely related to it. Fibre prepared from the material would probably resemble the fibre of the paper mulberry closely.L.A, .B. 7.4.16. |
