Notes: | Label source: Collected in Iraq, Kurdish side, from various oaks, and used in Baghdad to make confectionery Quercus manna - colour grey green, with fragments of green leaves and a few brown paticles. From Iraq, crude manna from which a confection is made, by purification and emulsification with egg albumen. The resulting solid mass is often mixed with roasted almonds or walnuts and made into round flat cakes. Eaten on feast days. Sold in Baghdad 5.1947 |
