Notes: | Label source: A tree 70 to 90 ft high, 2.5 to 3.5 ft diam. above its large buttresses. Reddish Brown, like mahogany, but coarser grain. Moderately hard, liable to split when felling and to warp in sawing especially when green, durable for interior work,, weight 40 to 45 lbs per cu. ft. Used esp for furniture. Logs from 12 to 30 ft in length and squaring 12 to 16 inches usually cut in logs 12 to 15 ft. Common in mixed forests throughout the Colony. This is known as crabwood in British Guiana |
