Notes: | Label source: Plants of Venezuela. Distrito Federal: Caracas. Jardin Botanico. Reforested hills above garden. Tree 10m tall with trunk 9cm near base. Bark dark grey-brown, cracked longitudinally and transversely. Branched near base. Branches erect, strai, ght up, sometimes arching over. Secondary branches at 60 to 90 degrees from axis. Branching dense, branchlets grey-brown, thick, forming semi-rigid short shoots. Leaves near tips of short shoots, somewhat shiny, medium green avove, lateral nerves prominul, ous; pale glaucous green beneath with fine dark green reticulate veinlets. Areolae present on some leaves only, showing a yellower green or lighter area with fewer veinlets, leaves membranaceous. This species holding leaves much longer than others in area, . Sterile. |
