Notes: | Label source: About 3km west north west of the town of Ixtepec close to the road running towards Chihuitan and Santa Maria Guienagati on low lying plains of the isthmus of Tehuantepec. Small tree to 6m ht. with a twisted bole tp 20cm dbh and an open rou, nded crown. Bark smooth green to base with a crystaline granular apparently sugary surface, inner bark creamy yellow; ants seem to be attracted to cut bark. Flowers mainly past, unscented, calyx greenish yellow at base yellow at tip, petals yellow, oran, ge speckled at base of blade but not on claw stamens and style yellow green, anthers dirty brown green. Ripe and unripe pods, greenish brown strongly tinged red becoming light straw brown when ripe. Locally frequent, scattered in degraded dry thorn scru, b forest with Porsopis, Jacquinia, Opuntia and Acacia. |
