Notes: | Label source: Letter 530,1922:xv.p.157 - Two pieces of wood used for same purpose as Mahogany. Burroughes & Watts Ltd, Furze Street, Devons Row, Bow E.3 The two pieces of wood show some resemblance to a specimen of 'Abeku Mahogany' from the Gold Coast in, the Kew Museum, but have a rather different colour, coarser grain and more lustre. They also resemble the wood of Dichopsis polyantha from India, and apparently, like the woods named, belong to the Sapotaceae, but it has not been found possible to identi, fy them. L.A.B. 22.1.24 |
