Notes: | Label source: A medium size tree 25 to 50 ft high. The timber is reddish in colour, rather soft but strong and tough, very ornamental and easily worked. It much resembles Honduras mahogany. Unfortunately Kohekohe is not found in large quantities, and, the tree also suffers from 'heart rot' North Island. Abundant in forests throughout South Island, Marlborough and D'Urville Island. |
