Notes: | Label source: Sample of fibre. Shaws Ltd. 1 Oswald Street, Manchester. The sample appears to consist of finely split rattan, i.e. it has apparently been prepared from the stem of Calamus rotang or of some similar sp. of Calamus. Calamus rotang would prob, ably come from India or Ceylon, but as the species cannot be named, no definite statement can be made as to the country of origin of the material. L.A.B. 27.11.12.
