Notes: | Label source: The fibre is from the leaf of a palm, apparently a sp belonging to the Cocoineae. The sample is identical with or at any rate very close to, a specimen of Tucum in the Kew Museum. According to Wiesner, Tucum fibre appears to be prepared f, rom both A. ayri and A vulgare. A specimen of a fibre received at Kew from GH Pethybridge of Dublin in 1913 may perhaps be the same thing as the present sample. At the time I suggested Bactris or Martinezia LaB 23.1.14 |
