Notes: | Label source: This variety is said to have originated in Minnesota, and is claimed to have been the result of accidental hybridization. Distinct and very early variety, grows from 10 to 12 feet high, ripens in about 90 days from germination, and is rema, rkably rich in saccharine juice, yielding from one hundred and fifty to three hundred gallons of a beautiful golden colored syrup per acre, which granulates readily six to eight pounds of sugar per gallon. The seed, of which it yields large quantities, m, ake a good foof for animals and is valuable for poultry. Appears to be the best early var at present known. Requires same culture as corn. First distributed by Dept in 1878. | ||||
