Notes: Label source: Alginate Wool Aug. 1949. By carding the thread of Ca Na alginate (50 per cent) it is made into wool, used for swabs in surgery. The wool contains small traces of a lubricant used in spinning the thread by Coutaulds. This lubricant is cetyl-, pyridinium bromide, which is highly baterio-static in a dilution of 1 in 100,000, it also inhibits moulds. Fast absorption rate for dental application.
