Notes: | Label source: Nest composed largely of seeds of Catopsis, made by Little Collared Swift, Paenyptila cayanensis Gmel. This is catopsis of Mez's monograph rather than Tillandsia. Entry-book source: J H Hart esq Trinidad. Birds nest composed almost entirel, y of the seeds of Catopsis nutans , Gris. (Bromeliaceae). Sent as affording information on the subject of seed distribution. The name of the bird is not known & the bird has not been seen. The nest was attached (see diagram in entry book) Since determined, by Mr Hemsley to be Tillandsia sp. & not Catopsis JRJ.? |
