Notes: | Label source: Purchased by museums staff in West London. Epicure brand. 100g (3.5 oz) net. Hints on using Epicure Arrowroot, For desserts: flavour sauce with vanilla or other flavouring, add sugar to taste, serve warm as a custard or cold set in moulds., For thickening gravies or meat sauces. Mix 1 teaspoonful with a little stock or cold water into a smooth paste, then add to bulk of stock. Gently heat whilst stirring. To ease stomach sickness and intestinal upsets, 1.5 teaspoonsful in a basin, mix to pas, te with a little cold milk. Stir, whilst adding 1/3 pint boiling milk to smooth sauce. Return to pan and stir whilst gently heating for a few minutes. |
