Label source: Copy of letter from Mr Rundle to Dr Schlich, Bedford Office, Tavistock, 30.03.1900. I have sent your three strawberry punnets in a box by parcels post today. I am sorry to have been so long about it. Those sent were made by the children, of a tenant who holds a few acres of fruit land. The material for 12 dozen of them costs 1 shilling and six pence and the labour 1 shilling, which works out at nearly 5 for 1d. Boxes to hold 54 punnets in which they are sent to London market or elsewher, e cost [7.5] each. According to Dr Schlick these punnets are made from the wood of Silver Fir, Abies pectinata.
