Notes: | Label source: Memo to Dr Cutler 25.2.1980 from Nigel Hepper. David, I should be grateful if the enclosed Ancient Egyptian brush could be examined to decide whether it is date palm. Would it be possible to take a fragment from the side where there is alre, ady sign of recent damage, rather than at the end. It looks to me as if the stepped end was used as a stirrer: what do you think? I like the way the bristle fibres have dried in clumps - I wonder who was the last Egyptian to use it, when and what he was p, ainting/writing! |
