Notes: | Label source: Memo to Dr Cutler & Richard Moore from Nigel Hepper. Date: 30.1.78. No. 143B The enclosed plant was included with the Ancient Egyptian material from Saqqara sent in by Dr Martin. Although it looks like a Zingiber ? inflorescence you will no, te that the head detaches from the stalk. I enclose a head of maize picked up from the ground by the students plots and think it looks similar in which case it cannot (or should not) be pre-Columbus. Could you please check this and comment on the identity, of the stalk?x0Dx0Ax0Dx0ABroken cob sampled (2 florets) for radiocarbon dating for Carl Johanessen 16/02/02 Mark Nesbitt. Result: post - 1945 |
