Notes: | Label source: Wood from tree under foundations of monastery c. 700 AD. The City Architect, Major Davis says: in excavating adjoining the buildings that formed part of the Ancient Monastery of Bath, which it is believed was commenced about 676 or possibl, y as late as 781, I found a tree placed to secure the foundation of somewhat large size and which judging from its bark and other peculiarities I believe was elm.
