Among the funeral offerings of the ancient Egyptians often occur masses of a pa, p of roughly cut or coarsely ground grains of barley. These masses are generally found in small earthern bowls, placed on the floor of the vault like other offerings. In Prof. Maspero's opinion these masses of barley which are in no way suitable for human, nourishment answers to the Mola (Mola salsa) offerings of the Roman of earlier epochs. |
