Very steep and clayey open Quercus atostaphylos woodland with shrubby Penstemons, small Agave, few cacti, and many epiphytic Bromeliads (including Tillandsia usnoides), Orchidaceae (Encyclia concolor), and Schoenoc, aulon sp. Terribly eroded and overgrazed slope below Pan-am. Highway at Puerto Herrera (Km 420), just NW of Vanhuitlan. Flowers narrowly to broadly urceolate, very variable, from white to a very rich pink. Stigma green. Shrub very much branched, to 1.5 me, ters tall. Mature berry black, verrucose. | ||||
