Notes: | Label source: Rocky borders of streams and lakes, and in swamps. It grows to the height of 60 to 70 ft rapidly diminishing in size throwing out branches from base to summit. Wood is light soft coarse grained and durable. Used in frame wk of buildings, and upper timbers of ships, as fence posts gates etc. One of most durable Canadian woods esteemed for mking split laths known as cyprus laths Spec. grav. 0.45 and wt of cu ft 26 lbs. |
