Notes: | Label source: Mr Hillier. It seems clear that there was a mistake in the naming of the block of wood labelled Abies amabilis, as spiral thickening of the tracheides is not known in any species of Abies. I have no doubt that the specimen is really P. Do, uglasii. Resin canals are rarely present in the wood of Abies. |
