| Notes: | Label source: Obtained in 1947 from right side moraine of Lower Grindelwald glacier at an altitude of 1700 metres, estimated by C14 in laboratory of Brit. Mus. as dating from 15th century AD it is evidence of a former forest in that place numerous other, tree remains have been found there, destroyed and overrun by ice in the advance of the glaciers in the 16th and 17th centuries.
