Notes: | Label source: Pink to light brown straight grained close textured tough wood. Sometimes has slight wavy grain and small radial figure when quarter cut. Hard, firm timber tough to work with hand planes and dulls machine tools quickly, Used for handles, l, iable to surface checking during seasoning and is not a durable timber in the ground. Sapwood, not defined, occasionally slightly attacked by the Powder Post Borer. Tree attaining a ht of 100 ft and up to 12 ft girth, occurring along the creek sides on t, he E Coast of NSW and Queensland. Plentiful on E. Dorrigo. Hard 48 - 56 lb per cu ft. |
