| Notes: | Collecting notes: Puebla: Upper Tehuacan Valley, ca. 20km N of Tehuacan, Mpio. of Tepanco at small village of Pino Suarez.x0Dx0Ax0Dx0AHighly degraded roadside scrub. Possibly cultivated.x0Dx0Ax0Dx0AMultiple-stemmed tree to 5 m, stems 5-7cm diam., regrowth from cut large, r tree with original trunk 15-20 cm diam. Bark greyish, vertically shallowly fissured. Main stems armed with shallow spine-tipped woody protuberances. Foliage bluish green. Pedicels and calyx tubes greenish, calyx lobes yellowish. Petals bright yellow, th, e 'standard' veined orangish.
