Notes: Label source: 9 samples (with notes) of bark as follows. 1. From JWC Martius, Erlangen - The structure is identical with that of thick Canella bark. Dark colour of exterior is due to stone cells. Bark contains very numerous oil cells, now filled with d, ark yellow or brownish brittle resin. HGG Jan 1894. 2. Jamaica collection, 1855. Mons Fremont. 3. Ecorce de Winter in collection of AJ de Lens. 4. E Chitty, Jamaica. From RBG Kew April, 1862. 5, From G Roberts 1854. 6. Specimens of the Winters Bark of Ger, man commerce from Dr Henkel 1862. 7. Contains barks drawn from 3 sources a. Red fibrous bark, b. Chitty and c. Characteristic C corticosum. 8. The least marked variety. Bast fibres very numerous, medrays 1 celled. 9. Unlabelled.
