Notes: Label source: Four specimens. 1. Imported from Africa in 1851, 2. In 1852, 3. Obtained in Bogota, Colombia, by AJ de Warszewicz and sent to me from Guayaquil - native of Pamplone, New Granada. J Martiny who examined this sample 18.ix.1851, and said that, the bark had not been described. This specimen is from two Serons of the bark imported from Africa and offered for sale as Winters Bark by CL Jenkin 21. viii. 1851. I think it fetched two pence per pound.. Bag of Coto bark - an admirable remedy for ever, y kind of disease, sent from H Bolivia to Hamburg and to me for analysis.
