Notes: Label source: This bark is used here for tanning and dyeing especially with indigo. It is cut up and boiled for 2 hours in a copper pan and the liquid is dried by heat. In dyeing it is used to give a brownish red colour to cloth and get a good black and, purple. The cloth is dyed in tengah, dried and dipped in indigo. Extract from letter to Director dated Nov 8th 1892. from Ridley.
