Notes: Label source: In Vanua Levu the Dani Dani is considered to be a wonderful remedy for wounds and sores. The simple native way is to chew the leaves and apply to the wound, or in some cases, the entire leaf is fast bound round the arm or leg which has bee, n hurt. The dogs that are taken pig hunting often get badly hurt and torn, and they are treated with dani dani leaves by their owners. The value of this plant for white ulcers and sores is well known. An extremely good ointment can be made from Dani Da, ni, and it is really very efficacious. Cattle are extremely fond of this small tree. It grows in light bush and by creek banks, and is a very pleasant thing to see, with its elegant pinnated leaves and long drooping yellowish green flowers panicles. It, is in fullest bloom in the months of August and September, and then proves attractive to the bees.
